You have tried this year and in the new you will do better. Be your best friends and don’t blame anyone for what good things haven’t yet happened to you. Unbelievers are often sad doing this time, because their focus in carnal achievements only. They often compare themselves with their colleague and match themselves to their achievements, as a child of the living God, Christ should be the centre of your life. What was your relationship this year with Christ? How was your spiritual life? What did you do for God in 2019. How many souls did you win? What did you contribute to the growth and development of the church? What higher step did you take this year regarding your spiritual growth

Rom 8:18 – 25 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Jas 4:13 – 16 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

Phil 1:6  Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Pro 19:20 – 22 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

Lam 3:21 – 23 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

2Cor 4:17 – 18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Your future does not lie in what Nigeria or the rest of the world become in 2020. Man cannot be trusted to your future, but God can. Its always responsible to realize that God doesn’t operate by an earthy calendar, after all God say with Him, one day is like a thousand years and one thousand years like one day ( ) Your future lies in trusting God for His plan for you ( ) Keying in into His purpose to your life which is different from that of someone else. ( ) Never compare yourself with our friends, neighbours and colleague but compare yourself with His divine plan. This is the way to God now

  1. Examine yourself 2Cor 13:5, Ps 119:59, Lam 3:40, Ps 26:2, Ps 139:24, Job 13:23, Ps 4:4, 1Jn 1:9, Ezek 18:27 – 28, Gal 6:4

Psa 4:4  Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Ezek 18:27 – 28 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Gal 6:4  But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

Although the year is running to an end, eternity the endless years we shall spend beyond this life obviously more important. This is the time God says you should examine yourself if whether you are still a believer, or whether you have backslidden in one of the month. It’s a time to reflect and get back to God as quickly as possible. Repent and return to Christ, your eternity is at stake because there time has no value. Are you ready for the coming to Christ to the earth for the rapture?

  1. Entrance changes Isa 43:18 – 20, Deut 31:6, Jer 29:11,Num 23:19

Isa 43:18 – 20 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

Deut 31:6  Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Jer 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Num 23:19  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

You can’t keep living in the same way doing the same thing the same way for years upon years and expect a different outcome. You need to embrace changes. Changes are what create failure or success in the New Year; try to do things in a new way need to venture into new territories whatever that means to you. Attempt new things you have never attempted before, take a shot at something strange, take a leap of faith for something else, this is what will allow the New Year to be better than the past. As God will give you new opportunities in the year, you will find the New Year far better than all the years of your life.
